Rockside is owned and managed by Martin and Caroline, it occupies an enviable location and is well positioned for discovering the lakes regardless of your chosen method of transport.

Arriving by car we have our own car parking for 9 vehicles. By bus or rail we are located less than 2 minutes walk away where you will find regular links to include Manchester and London Euston. By foot and you will find some of the most beautiful footpaths and countryside in England. The famous walk to Orrest Head made by Lakeland walker Alfred Wainwright commences just over the road from Rockside, he was so inspired by the view he saw he went on to walk all the other fells in the Lake District and wrote the most famous Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland fells.

Our rooms are modern and comfortable and provide a mixture of double and twin accommodation. All have tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, central heating and TV (some with additional DVD) All are en suite. We have 2 suites with their own lounge areas and are perfect for a longer stay or simply if you want that bit of extra space.

We love home baking at Rockside bed & Breakfast Windermere, which can be seen both in our breakfast menu with homemade marmalade, jams, scotch pancakes and waffles. We have our own special mix of Rockside muesli, and regular homemade cookies on reception ready for your arrival or to replenish your energy levels after a long day out in the fells.

There is plenty of information available at Rockside guest house to help you make the most out of your stay in the Lake District, books, magazines and our own guide which does include a whole host of ideas even to keep you occupied on those occasional rainy days!! Should you still be struggling for things to do then we are always happy to help; alternatively Tourist information is located only 200yds away.
